Perspective & MATTER

Crafting objective value, in between the realm of the functional and fine arts, whilst bridging this tension and relief. The result is a transformative space which exposes the closeness and awareness of each discipline. Whilst delving into the intricate relationship between functional and aesthetic appeal, challenging creators to push the boundaries where these two often opposing elements intersect.
By confronting these opposing needs, the output becomes a dialogue that emphasizes the evolving roles of perception and matter in contemporary creation. The selected projects are part of a case study on experimental practices, encouraging a reevaluation of how materials inform not only design but also our emotional response to objects.

About
LUSO Collective takes its form as a dynamic platform that unites creatives to amplify impact through collaborative synergy.
The name ‘LUSO’ draws its significance from the ancient Lusitanians, the people who once inhabited the region that now comprises Portugal and parts of Spain. The term reflects a rich tapestry of Portuguese history, culture, and art, embodying a spirit deeply rooted in the country’s heritage.
The collective, founded and curated by Natasza Grzeskiewicz and Tomás Fernandes of Studio Further Ther, alongside Raquel d’Oliveira, seeks to bring together some of the best Portuguese-based talents. At the core of the LUSO Collective is the belief that by coming together, individual voices can be amplified to create a greater impact on the creative landscape.
